Ethical trade...

Witch-iddy-grubs is passionate about the tribal cultures of South East Asia and is committed to ethical trade practices. We work directly with the craftspeople that manufacture the designs for our collection.

Our love of travelling and meeting with people living traditional lifestyles is at the foundation of our business. For 3-6 months every year our entire family journey to South East Asia to live and work with our production teams. We source all the fabrics used in the collection ourselves, with a focus on fabrics fashioned by traditional cultures using natural dyeing and weaving techniques.

We endeavor to maintain cultural integrity in local communities by working with village based producers for both the fabric production and the stitching of our garments. The stitching of our designs is done in a number of small-scale tailoring and craft workshops located close to the source of the fabrics. This provides income for people outside of the industrialised, urbanised fashion industry, allowing them to continue to live in their traditional homelands.

We are committed to fair trade practices and, by working personally with our craftspeople, we can ensure that the workers wages and conditions are fair. This guarantees integrity in each and every garment.

Because of these choices in our business, production time is slow and we only have one release a year. The countries we work in include India, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and China.
